FRMS 2019

The first annual FRMS was held in April 2019 at Colorado State University’s Canvas Stadium. The meeting hosted over 175 attendees from 22 different institutions and spanned 12 disciplines of science representing all career stages, from senior faculty to undergraduates. Presentations included keynotes from Dr. Jill Banfield and award-winning author Ed Yong as well as many more invited, contributed, and rapid fire talks from early career scientists. FRMS 2022

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FRMS resumed in April 2022 (with masks required!) at the Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center at Colorado State University. The 2nd annual event hosted over 180 attendees from 9 different academic institutions and 9 government and industry entities from across the Front Range and beyond. Presentations included keynotes from Dr. Maria Gloria Dominguez-Bello (Rutgers University) and Dr. Zakee Sabree (Ohio State University) as well as many more invited, contributed, and rapid fire talks from early career scientists. FRMS 2023

The third annual FRMS was held in April 2023 at the Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center at Colorado State University. The event was once again at capacity (>170 attendees) with nearly 70% of all attendees being graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, or undergraduates. Our 2023 keynote speakers were Dr. Rob Knight (University of California, San Diego) and Dr. Margaret McFall-Ngai (University of Hawaii) and were complimented by 11 short presentations from early career scientists in our community.
